NCSPRA members have elected new chapter officers and board members:  

VALERIE NEWTON of Sampson County Schools was re-elected as NCSPRA’s President. DR. TRACEY HELTON of Guilford County Schools was re-elected to serve a second term as Vice President. Members elected AARIKA SANDLIN of Vance County Schools to serve as NCSPRA’s Secretary. JADA JONAS of Iredell-Statesville Schools was elected as Treasurer. All four officers will begin their one-year terms on June 1, 2025.

NCSPRA members also chose three new board members to serve two-year terms: HEATHER LOUISE FINCH of Nash County Public Schools, JESSICA SEALEY of the Public Schools of Robeson County, and WANDA WALKER of Guilford County Schools. All will begin serving as board members on June 1st. Their terms will run through May 31, 2027.

Sheena Cooper (Durham Public Schools) and Lauri Crowder (Onslow County Schools) will continue to serve on the NCSPRA board. Their terms expire May 31, 2026. Other members of the NCSPRA board include State Coordinator Kevin Smith (Orange County Schools), Presidential Appointee Jessica Swencki of MyFutureNC, and Past President Ken Derksen (Wayne County Public Schools).
