Welcome to the North Carolina School Public Relations Association
MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Welcome to the North Carolina School Public Relations Association (NCSPRA)!
We are the leading organization for school communications/public relations professionals in North Carolina, serving approximately 60 school districts and 120 members. Additionally, we are proud to be an official state chapter of the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA).
Our purpose is simple, but extremely important – to support school PR professionals in their work through professional development, networking, and other activities and to promote the necessity of school public relations programs.
We accomplish our purpose through the annual fall conference, which is a partnership with our colleagues in South Carolina; professional development programs such as the “Final Four,” which features a full day of four seminars focusing on relevant topics, and the NCSPRA Leadership Academy in partnership with the N.C. Center for the Advancement of Teaching in Cullowhee; the Blue Ribbon Awards program, which recognizes members for effective school communications and public relations efforts; a mentoring program for people new to the profession; scholarship opportunities for members to attend the NSPRA national seminar; and so much more.
Perhaps best of all, NCSPRA fosters a statewide network of school PR professionals who are just a phone call or e-mail away when a crisis occurs, resources are needed, and questions arise.
The time is now for you to be a part of the NCSPRA family. If you are in charge of public relations and communications in your school district, you have to be a member of our organization. After all, it will make your job much easier knowing that NCSPRA is by your side.
It is an honor and privilege to provide leadership for NCSPRA as we celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2020. If we can be of assistance, please let us know. Thank you for all that you do for school public relations in our great state.
